Having a Ball

Friday, Stephanie and I ate on top of the Reunion Tower in Dallas....aka "The Big Ball". It was nice. There's nothing like enjoying a juicy cheeseburger in a fancy restaurant 500 feet in the air. Sweetness. The wait was not sweet. When we got to the lobby, the lady working the front desk said the wait for a table would be 20 minutes. So we sat, and sat, and sat, and sat. 45 minutes went by and we had seen several people come down off the elevators carrying doggie boxes, like that had just finished eating. We were next in line, so the logical thing would be to assume that we had a table already!!! We asked the lady again, how long the wait would be and she said "20 minutes". Keep in mind that this was after we had waited 45 minutes. What in the world?!

It reminded me of that Seinfeld episode, when they were waiting to eat at the Chinese restaurant. The host kept telling them that the wait was "5, 10 minute". Even after they had been waiting for 20 minutes, he kept telling them "5, 10 minute". Then they finally left, because they were mad, and the host called their name, "Seinfeld! Four!".

It was unbelievable. Finally, after an hour of waiting, we got to go up to the restaurant. Only to find, that it was almost completely empty. I'm glad we waited an hour for that!

The dining experience was nice, and they view was great. It's a perfect date spot, and I guess it was worth the wait. However, a second time it might not be. However, being a first timer, it was really cool. It's worth the trip! If you are ever in the big-D, check it out.

Does that set a new record in terms of the highest altitude from which you have eaten a cheeseburger?? :)
